CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on healing practice that focuses on the subtle rhythms and movements of the craniosacral system—comprising the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John Upledger in the 1970s, CST is based on the idea that restrictions in this system can affect the central nervous system and lead to a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms.
During a session, the therapist uses light touch to assess and release restrictions in the craniosacral system. The client typically lies fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner gently places their hands on various parts of the body, such as the skull, sacrum (the base of the spine), and spine, to feel for imbalances or blockages.
The therapy aims to restore the natural rhythm and flow of cerebrospinal fluid, enhance the body’s self-healing capabilities, and improve overall health and function. It’s commonly used to help with conditions like migraines, chronic pain, stress and tension-related disorders, TMJ syndrome, fibromyalgia, and even trauma or emotional issues.
CranioSacral Therapy is noted for its calming, meditative quality. Many clients report deep relaxation, emotional release, and improved well-being after sessions. While more research is needed to fully validate CST within the medical community, it continues to grow in popularity, especially in integrative and holistic health circles, due to its non-invasive and supportive approach to healing.
A gentle, hands-on approach that helps your body release tension, ease pain, and restore balance from the inside out. Just a light touch can unlock deep healing, calm your nervous system, and leave you feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected. Relax, reset, and let your body do what it was designed to do: heal
